Support Crossing Party Lines

You’re not just supporting a nonprofit — you’re strengthening our communities and our country.

Your Support Matters. Especially Now.

Your support fuels: Hope, Understanding, Social Connection & Functional Democracy. Americans are more divided — and more exhausted — than ever. Many people want connection but don’t know where to start. CPL offers a rare and essential space where people across the political spectrum can talk, listen, and rediscover each other’s humanity.

Help Build a More Curious, Connected, and Less Polarized America

Healthy communities depend on trust, respect, and the ability to live with disagreement. At a time when public discourse often rewards outrage and division, creating spaces for respectful engagement requires intention, care, and sustained support.

Crossing Party Lines exists to do this work — locally and nationally — by helping people talk across differences without pressure to agree or persuade. Your support makes that possible.

Whether you give time, money, or simply share what we do, you are helping heal the divide. If you believe America is better when we talk with each other instead of about each other, we invite you to support Crossing Party Lines in whatever way feels right for you.

Help Fund Our Work

Your contribution directly funds:
  • Free cross-partisan conversations
  • Moderator training and community leadership development
  • Forming and running local chapters.
  • Outreach to libraries, schools, senior centers, and civic groups
  • Tools that teach people how to reduce polarization in their everyday lives
Every dollar helps someone feel heard and find common ground. Crossing Party Lines is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit—which means your donation is tax deductible.

Give Time, Share Skills

Crossing Party Lines is a  nonprofit—which means we are people-powered, not profit-driven. We exist because people across the country are hungry for more respectful, human ways to engage across political and cultural lines. We have opportunities for every level of involvement:
  • Become a trained moderator
  • Help run events (Zoom or in-person)
  • Join a committee: outreach, social media, fundraising, partnerships
  • Offer professional skills (design, data, writing, tech, etc.)
Your time can help someone have their first positive political conversation.

Spread the Word

Not everyone can donate or volunteer — and that’s okay. You can support CPL just by helping people discover us:
  • Tell a friend about a CPL meeting
  • Share our posts on social media
  • Bring someone new to a conversation
  • Mention us to your local library or community group
Your voice helps amplify curiosity in a noisy world.

CPL 200: Moral Foundations in Political Conversation

Moral Foundations Theory provides a useful framework for talking politics.

We begin by discussing each of the six foundations and getting a taste of how they can manifest differently in different people.

This leads to exploring some of the tensions intrinsic within the foundations themselves, which opens the door to moving from the moral/immoral dichotomy to an appreciation of how interacting with people who are differently moral to us leads to a more nuanced view of any issue and eventually to better solutions.

In this workshop you will:

  • Learn to recognize the moral underpinnings of your own views
  • Listen for indications that one or more of the six moral foundations is at play in a political discussion.
  • Bring morality into a discussion in a non confrontational way
