Curate a Better Feed: 5 Instagram Accounts That Help You Think Clearly in a Noisy World

Social media doesn’t have to be a source of stress, division, or misinformation — but only if we curate it intentionally. By following voices that promote clarity, compassion, and critical thinking, your feed can become a space for growth, not outrage. In this post, we’re sharing 5 Instagram accounts that will help you scroll smarter and engage with more purpose online.

Let’s face it — social media can feel like a battleground of opinions, headlines, and outrage. If you’re like most people, you’ve probably felt overwhelmed, exhausted, or even disillusioned by your own feed at times.

But here’s the truth: you have the power to change what you see.

By intentionally following voices that promote clarity, compassion, and critical thinking, your scrolling can become a source of growth — not stress. That’s what this is all about.

We’ve created a social media carousel post recommending 5 Instagram accounts that encourage a better, more balanced digital experience. And in this blog post, we’re diving deeper into why these creators deserve a spot in your feed.

1. @upspiral.life

What he does:
Michael Hunter, founder and CEO of Upspiral offers ways you can use the latest findings from neuroscience and psychology to be in charge of your life.  It dovetails perfectly with CPL’s workshop “Your Brain on Politics” and offers regular reminders of techniques you can use to show up as your best self.

2. @groundnews

What they do:
Ground News helps you spot bias in news coverage by comparing how different sources report the same story. Their platform literally maps media bias — left, center, right — so you can step outside the echo chamber.

3. @depolar.wise

What they do:
DepolarWise provides bite-sized lessons and insights on depolarization, active listening, and bridging divides — all without being preachy or condescending.

If you’ve ever felt stuck between extremes, this account will help you navigate nuance with grace.

4. @builders

What they do:
Builders spotlights people and organizations solving real-world problems in innovative ways — across politics, education, climate, and more.

This isn’t just inspiration — it’s activation. Builders remind you that change is happening (and you can be part of it).

5. @jefferson_fisher

What he does:
A trial lawyer turned content creator, Jefferson Fisher teaches emotional regulation and communication skills for everyday life.

His videos show you how to stay calm in tense moments, speak with clarity, and protect your peace — both online and off.

Why These Matter

The content you consume shapes your thoughts, emotions, and even your relationships.

Your feed can:

  • Trigger anxiety or build confidence

  • Narrow your worldview or expand it

  • Fuel division or foster understanding

So instead of passively scrolling through outrage and noise, why not build a feed that supports your values and growth?

Start Small:

  • Follow the 5 accounts above

  • Unfollow pages that make you feel reactive or combative

  • Share this guide with someone who’s ready to curate their own digital peace

The algorithm won’t save us — but our choices can.

CPL 200: Moral Foundations in Political Conversation

Moral Foundations Theory provides a useful framework for talking politics.

We begin by discussing each of the six foundations and getting a taste of how they can manifest differently in different people.

This leads to exploring some of the tensions intrinsic within the foundations themselves, which opens the door to moving from the moral/immoral dichotomy to an appreciation of how interacting with people who are differently moral to us leads to a more nuanced view of any issue and eventually to better solutions.

In this workshop you will:

  • Learn to recognize the moral underpinnings of your own views
  • Listen for indications that one or more of the six moral foundations is at play in a political discussion.
  • Bring morality into a discussion in a non confrontational way
